The IT business analyst /UNIX project lead position will be working directly with upstream data providers and downstream data consumers, to improve the security around UNIX access, and ensure that all shell-based interactions and file transfers with the Murex application server are current with the client’s standards.
The project activities will be split by implementation (FX Options and Global Equity Derivatives), but the overall solution and tasks are essentially the same for each implementation and both will run in parallel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for taking the lead on the technology side of the project. Working alongside the development team and representatives from other applications and business groups, the analyst will be required to gather requirements, facilitate user-testing, implement the new access framework, and produce documentation based on the client ‘s SDLC methodology.

Responsibilities:
- Planning and tracking of project milestones
- Working with technology teams to ensure robustness of the implementation
- Completion of project documentation
- Facilitate knowledge transfer from project team to support team

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
- Experience with UNIX
- Experience administrating UNIX would be an asset
- Experience leading or managing technology projects
- Must be able to remain organized and track many important details
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills

-Monitor and resolve incidents related to infrastructure systems and applications Initiate corrective actions to resolve system and infrastructure application errors
-Log and document production problems, identify recurring problems and recommend preventative measures
-Answer calls from application support groups or systems engineers, identify problems, resolve or escalate as required
- Interact with systems programmers, server, database and network support staff to maintain responsive and available infrastructure for the application SKILLS
- Knowledge of UNIX systems management, servers, AIX/HP-UX, UNIX systems and support and diagnostic tools such as Openview or VERITAS, shell scripts etc
- Exposure to multiple UNIX base operating systems an asset
